Essentially, to motivate a piece of equipment to operate, you need to give it the proper source of energy and to push the start button. If only people were so easy. Authors like Bob Nelson, in “1001 Ways To Reward Employees,” provides ideas and techniques that firms have successfully used to motive employees to perform better on the job. For me, leadership is personal. It starts with the individual. Each person brings who they are to the task of leading. If you are a leader or aspire to leadership, I ask you: Is all well in your world? Are you happy? Are you operating at maximum efficiency? If your answer is “yes,” then the world is a better place. Think about it, when you see a herd of animals, you’ll usually see one in the lead. The two leading voices in marketing are Internet Marketing and Direct Response and they both believe people think in packs.
